  • The UCU is committed to fighting redundancies and education cuts, nationally and locally.
  • The UCU branch is committed to defending members whose jobs are threatened and to defending the quality of scholarship, research and teaching at the IOE.

You will have received an email on Friday 12th February from the Director. The text of this email was presented to UCU executive members at the end of a three-hour consultation meeting earlier today.

  1. The IOE management has not made the case for the cuts they are proposing.
  2. They have a legal obligation to make this case – and to consult properly on what they are proposing.
  3. The branch executive has not agreed to anything.
